Apple released the long-awaited update for Snow Leopard today.
It’s name, in line with the leo-animal branding is “Lion”.

If you don’t see it in the AppStore, the only place where it is available on the internet (legally) right now, don’t be upset and click this link (http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/os-x-lion/id444303913?mt=12) which will take you to Apple’s official page. Then proceed from there – it will then, after a click on the 29,99 (or whatever it costs in your local currency), open in the AppStore, where you can continue with the buying process and then start downloading.

I am doing it right now – some 3 GB to go.

Okay so you have played the campaign (finished campaign) and now see you are at 24/26 missions or 25/26 missions – obviously there is one mission missing, the secret mission.

By now you have researched on Google how to get this mission and you have launched the mission “Media Blitz” and directed the Odin to the bottom right map corner and destroyed the building (looks like science building from Starcraft 1). Then you have picked up the documents and it reads “Secret found” – however, some 20 minutes later you have finished the map and it turns out that you cannot access the secret mission! What gives? Apparently when you have completed the campaign already the secret mission does not show. Here is how to fix this situation: as I have just done it and provide you with the screenshots, you can be assured that it DID work. If it does not work for you, then it either something went wrong or you are loading the wrong savegame/mixed something up.

This how-to is for Mac (OS X, Snow Leopard, 10.6) only, but I am quite sure something similar exists for Windows (PC):

1. Go to the folder /Users/MAC USERNAME/Documents/Blizzard/StarCraft%20II/Accounts/RANDOM NUMBER/ANOTHER RANDOM NUMBER/Saves/Unsaved/

2. Scroll down until you find one of the media blitz save games.

3. Copy it

4. Go to /Users/MAC USERNAME/Documents/Blizzard/StarCraft%20II/Accounts/RANDOM NUMBER/ANOTHER RANDOM NUMBER/Saves/Campaign/

5. Paste the file

6. Open SC2

7. Load the save file you just copied over from the CAMPAIGN tab, nothing else – make a mental note of the time (so you dont end up opening the wrong file).

8. Play the level “Media Blitz” again to get the secret documents.

9. Finish the mission, click on “continue”

10. Back on the “bridge” click the Starmap

11. Play the secret mission.

You should have seen Apple advertisements: Even though they are short (around 30 seconds each), they are really taking the piss out of PC’s. Personally, I use PC’s: I have two desktop PC’s and one Notebook, however I thought about switching the notebook over to ‘the other side’, the ‘bright side’. Check those ads out and feel free to post additional ads in the comments.

“Accident” – depicting the Mac is safe with the MagSafe connector on new Mac notebookes comes disconnected with a tug, while PC can hurt if power cord has been yanked.

“Accident” is one of the TV commercial ads “Get A Mac” series by Apple, which launched during Emmy awards, and starring by actor Justin Long as a Mac and actor John Hodgman as a PC. Other “Get A Mac” ads as below.

“Angel/Devil” – depicting having fun with Mac with preinstalled photo editing and imaging tools.

“Trust Mac” – depicting Mac is free and more secure than Windows from spyware and viruses.

“Out of the Box” – depicting Apple macs are ready to use out of the box and that no downloads or extra accessories are needed.

“Touch” – depicting Intel macs run both Windows and Mac OS X operating system while PC only runs one operating system.

“Better”

“Restarting” – Mac’s hardware and software just works, reducing time for troubleshooting.

“iLife”

“Viruses”

“WSJ” or “Wall Street Journal”

“Work vs Home”

Also it seems like Bill Gates is not too happy about those ads, as a recent interview showed.
Actually he was really pissed. Read the full interview here.
