I am really frustrated - I have vaio desktop and I have a problem with the drivers.

1 I cant download the drivers with a serial code
2 my pc is under my TV and I cant take it out without moving home
3 I cant find any serial code anything like the one on the website
4 the e support web site wont accept my details without the serial code
5 the phone support section does not return a result when i enter vaio product and location uk

the question is why do I have to regsiter my product to download drivers
I have vaio update running and new drivers are availbe but not old
so why cant I search driver through vaio update
how do I talk to someone

why cant they EMAIL ME AND HELP - I can tell sony all the information about the PC via email.

Also - I think the vaio website serves no purpose - an opportunity lost I think

Hello there.
I found your blog googling for "sony vaio bad material", since I have read loads of comments of people who are really really pissed off about the support AND quality of their Vaios. As a fact, you're the first one to write something even remotely positive about their support, at least in my search. Feels good to hear the other side though. And it just made my decision of whether to buy a Vaio or not just a little bit thougher...

amit,
i am no pr minon of sony, but I feel like I got good support.
Well when they returned my laptop the first time, they did some "repairs" but damaged another thing in the same time. Clearly - and I agree with you - not a sign of good support, but now on the otherhand their endevear / effort to fix this mistake afterwards when I called them was massive.
It was a service I had never expirienced before, and to remind you -without paying anything- I got my laptop collected by the door, they packed it for me with special shock-absorbing material and then shipped it internationally to repair it within 5 days. Surely I didnt get much of a response by mail, but that?s due to their fucked up mail system. There is nothing like "mike.schneider@sony-support.com" or something, but one single email address... For me it worked by phone: also another reminder for everyone not getting any response: call them up! you then instantly get a solution!

Did you have a bad expirience with sony support? if so, feel free to share :) thanks for commenting. how did you get to this blog?

I read you blog and to me it looked like really *bad* service. They sent you your laptop without repairing it? No response to emails? And you're happy because they finally fixed the laptop. You paid for the warranty - and they returned with service. Whats so great about that?
