The first wave has rolled in, so the the spreading has begun
If nothing has come through, be sure to check your Spam/Junk Folder (my Google+ invite was in the Junk folder, just saying…)
Let’s just pretend Google Buzz was not a complete fail a couple of months ago and that privacy was a huge issue -
Google has made a strong comeback with its new service “Google+” (Google Plus), which it announced just today. Google Plus aims, without a doubt, at eating into Facebook’s social network shares. With its (Google’s) usual system of “beta invites only” it is, as usual, creating a lot of anticipation for their new service. I remember when Google released Google Wave and Google buzz – same thing – everyone wanted to get invites, but barely anyone had them. Then, after some time, everyone had invites and it was not hard at all to get hold of an invite.

Please can I have an invite? I have been an avid Google user for the past 6-7 years, I have tried all the new products they have put out, good or bad. (Yes I’m talking about Buzz, Wave, Orkut!!) Apparently they are. From the feedback I’m reading on twitter, I think this is going to blow up and really challenge facebook hard. Might be time to load up on Google stock. Could you imagine if they steal even half of Facebook’s users. Facebook could potentially have the same fate as the social network they took out…myspace.
Again, Rick, many thanks for your detailed reply and for sharing this information with us. I agree – if this Google+ service works out then Facebook can pretty much take the same fate as myspace, which, as announced today, will be sold of for a mere 35 mio USD (Financial Times Germany, in German).

FYI guys: Google, the behemoth, has been forced to CAP invites today, they say they have run out of capacity (seriously?)
- I have sent out some 100s invites today and it was great fun seeing all you guys come here from different parts of the world. I will halt sending invites for the next two hours to wait for the next batch of 50 comments to arrive.
