Read MoreJust in the midst of finishing my term paper about change evaluation (organisational change and transformation) in Germany. I will return to London on the 27th. Then I will also kick-start my new site (which has actually been sitting on my server for weeks), reveal my new brand concept, theme-ish club, have all my themes released as GPL on the themeviewer, as well as offer my first “non-free” theme (this layout) to the public. Please bear with me in the meantime, I know I have been damn quiet recently, but there have been rather good reasons. I shot plenty pictures in London which are available at Flickr (you will find your way?) – some nice tube and motion images there.
If you want to help me built momentum for an awesome kickstart 2009, please contact me using the usual channels.
What’s up with me, why so little updates? University has started four week ago and I am somewhat busy with projects there unfortunately. I finished re-visions of all my past themes, but still the themeviewer is closed to updates (their laziness is really starting to piss me off; not once, not twice, but at least three times I have offered the community’s and my help to speed things up. So many people work on fixing bugs in WordPress; I am sure that at least 10 to 50 highly motivated individuals would volunteer to fix the themeviewer “according to Mr.Wordpress’” needs.
What is still in need to be done from me this the coming month(s)?

- release croatian version
- release polish version
- release spanish version
- update manual (to reflect credits and bug-fixes/faq)

- release calendar style theme (yes, this is going to be the next big thing after magazine styles)

- work on a way to pass dynamic data to flash and forth and back (seo-aspects)
- release my theme (h4x3d.com) to the public?
- come up with a new format
- launch wordpress mu more successful
- launch forums (again…)
- launch photoblog / flickr incorporation

Read MoreAs mentioned earlier, I worked (and still work) hard on Rainbow Feather; I had many people help me out with the work for Rainbow Feather, especially the translations for the localized version of Rainbow Feather, are beautiful. However embedding all those changes takes quite a while; also creating photoshop files for every language and every item (every button, every heading) is a time-intense process. I have finished the English Version to 100% and am now working my way through the German, Turkish, Portuguese, French and Romanian version. Here is a quick teaser video (Windows Media File) that shows how beautifully the widget-support is built-in, as well as the native Lightbox/Slimbox support, but also the cross-browser compatibility. Rainbow Feather is now looking all the same in every modern browser (Firefox, Internet Explorer 7, Internet Explorer 6, Safari). Also, I added more php-fanciness to auto-cut long titles, a (currently) four pages manual and even more… please stay tuned and don’t hesitate to bug me/leave a comment.

Cross-browser compatibility (16MB Flash) (new window)
UPDATE: been working all evening and morning, English, German, French versions are done 100%, now working on pt_BR, tr_TR and ro_RO
UPDATE: You can check-out the accompanying manual for Rainbow Feather here

When I receive mails I answer them one by one and show people how to improve and fix their sites. View this or this video (online / screencapture flash).
Read MoreNew features will be added soon: bbpress forums, wordpress mu blogs for everyone, lighter code, more themes, more interactivity… stay locked!
UPDATE: Installed bbpress and linked it to h4x3d.com (available at discuss.h4x3d.com) | Installed WordPress MU and linked to h4x3d.com (available at blogs.h4x3d.com) – however I am not yet satisfied with the way it works. I will have to talk to zone.net on monday and sort out domain wildcards, so that blogs are created as subdomains and not appended as virtual folders). I have not finished implementing the changes, specifically added it to this site, added themes, added plugins, etc.
Care to take a peek already though if you like and register… it is nothing definite right now though ;)
WordPress 2.3.1 is out (just 13 hours ago) – updating using subversion took 10 seconds: Windows Key + E -> go to putty folder -> open putty -> h4x3d.com -> login: user / password: password -> cd httpdocs -> svn sw http://svn.automattic.com/wordpress/tags/2.3.1/ -> close putty, open firefox go to h4x3d.com/wp-admin/upgrade.php , press update -> voila all done :)
Read MoreIf you wonder what happened to the page – I installed WordPress 2.3 using Subversion today and my former theme relies on some plugins that are not really WordPress 2.3 conform. I will have to look into it and change the code here and there. Sorry for the inconvenience!
Update: I migrated successfully, deleted some plugins, replaced others with newer ones, changed some post2cat to term2cat, removed some other dependencies and here we are – h4x3d.com is now running WordPress 2.3 on Subversion
Read MoreHello everyone, since my vacations are coming to an end soon, I thought it would be a good idea to release a bugfixed version of my Rainbow Feather theme. The old version had some nasty bugs in Internet Explorer 6. Until yesterday I wasn’t really able to test it, but when traveling north to one of my mates via train I had ten hours of time to fix things up. If the themeviewer will ever be open to updates (again) I will be posting the update there too of course, but for now the bugfixed version is available on the original Rainbow Feather theme page.
A live demo is available at wordpress.h4x3d.com
