The Mayday is the biggest techno and trance event in Germany that is being held INSIDE, the “loveparade” is Germany’s biggest outdoor event.
Armin van Buuren, being the world’s best DJ contributed massively with his surprisingly hard set at Mayday 2007:

A beautiful and melodic track is Ravels by William Orbit, many of you may know him better because of his Adagio for Strings remixes that were also featured and remixed by Tiesto. Get this ViVa television trance video recording at

A totally different era and music style genre is that of N-Trance and their chart-breaker “Set you Free”. I dont like the crap quality at youtube, which is why I located the video below . It has nice audio and video, so for a high-quality version get the one above. In a similar fashion, Alice Deejay was producing tracks: better of alone for instance. The TMF 2000 awards mix features a variety of Alice Deejay trance songs:

Moby, starting his career sometime in the early 90s (listened to his Essential Mix on Radio 1 the other day from 1994 or so, its awesoem but you really hear all the cuts and fades) had some ear-catching themes in the charts as well, his famous tracks include Porcelain, Why does my heart feel so bad and also the soundtrack for the james bond movie (was it goldeneye?). Find below the three trance videos in high quality.

Also in the 90s, but more towards the end, Mauro Picotto, Italian DJ and Producer, became quite famous (at least in Germany) with his hard-style of trance and songs such as Iguana, Komodo (that is the one with the lizard) and back to cali. I own many of his vinyls, mostly from the label BXR, one of the harder sides of trance. Below you can get three trance videos of Mauro Picotto and one interview.

Speaking of Germany and the 90s, Members of Mayday were quite famous, too with their single “Sonic Empire”, a classic rave theme that many would mistake for trance.
I found one track, culture flash, which you may like, too.

In a similar hard fashion to Mauro Picotto, Kai Tracid (he is German I believe), rocked the dance charts with track such as “Too many times” and “Trance and Acid“, get the two Kai Tracid Videos below from rapidshare:

Now jumping a bit in time, 2003, Lasgo, with her rather cheesy Trance got major media attention and also won the 2003 TMF awards. The remix below features Sylver, Milk Inc. and Faithless: they are redoing an alltime classic, INSOMNIA. Really a nice version and the birds look fit, too.

A year later, Ferry Corsten, one of the world’s best DJs performs at the 2004 TMF awards – , his performance didn’t really blast me off the chair, but it is a nice track anyway.

At the same year, Tiesto was also performing at the TMF awards. . However this was in the Netherlands and not Belgium. Another Tiesto trance video is “Suburban Train”, a legend of a track and one of my all time favourite songs:
, the video is really well laid-out and done, love it.

Did you know that Tiesto and Ferry Corsten were producing together some time ago? They were behind “Gouryella”.
Gouryella is a Dutch trance act comprising Ferry Corsten and DJ Tiësto. The word itself means “heaven” in an aborigine language.
The heart breaking and cool techy song and trance video is available here

A similar, rather slow-ish and soft trance, vocal trance song and video is by Delerium – Innocente. It also sounds a bit like “breathing by Rank1 and dreaming by BT” – or I am mixing it up now…

Faithless’ “WE COME ONE” track was one of the first songs that they released after their (longer) break and hits like “God is a DJ” and “Insomnia” – We come one, trance video in high-quality at rapidshare:

This Saturday, 23rd February, the waiting has come to an end, over 30.000 international dance lovers will rush to Utrechts’ Jaarbeurs for the greatest trance even in the world: Trance Energy 2008.

Expect the latest laser, light and music effects and techniques with major artists such as Tiësto, Ferry Corsten and Marco V (mainstage). In the club stage you will find Jean and Roy Gates, but also Marcel Woods, Ernesto vs. Bastian and Rank1. The future stage will accommodate Sean Tyan and Airbase. - Food and Drink coupons can be bought inside. Using coupons (bons) / cards you can pay your food/drink inside Trance Energy.
- Locker boxes (10,000 I can tell) are available for 5 euros (small) and 10 euros (big). Usually you need a small one only. The locker boxes are outside the security check (so you can store food/drinks there and go out later on – though I am not sure if you can get in without a press pass later, ask the bouncer/security people for a stamp/proof)

- Zero Tolerance: hard drugs are not allowed at all; soft drugs are tolerated but not liked to be seen applied (smooking weed is legal in the Netherlands, still don’t carry a lot with you). Police will be informed if necessary.

- Identification is a must: you need to be able to identify yourself at all time. You need a valid pass to get in. You need to be over 18. Seriously.

Can be bought on-scene; there is loads, but expensive. You can buy / download the CD later-on.

They give out free-mp3 codes for dance-tunes.com in the after-party leaflets/magazines. Grab as many as you can.

Aanstaande zaterdag 23 februari is het dan eindelijk zover. 30.000 internationale danceliefhebbers komen samen in de Utrechtse Jaarbeurs voor het grootste trance-evenement ter wereld: Trance Energy 2008.
Naast een vooruitstrevende show met de nieuwste licht- en lastertechnieken, is er natuurlijk ruimschoots aandacht voor muziek op vier podia, met grootheden als Tiësto, Ferry Corsten en Marco V (mainstage). De clubstage is het domein van onder meer djs Jean en Roy Gates, en host Hight Contrast verrast ons met artiesten als Marcel Woods, Ernesto vs. Bastian en Rank1. De Futurestage biedt tenslotte het podium aan talenten als Sean Tyan en Airbase. Hieronder vind je de laatste eventinfo.

Werkzaamheden aan het spoor op 23 en 24 februari 2008
Tijdens Trance Energy vinden in opdracht van ProRail, omvangrijke werkzaamheden plaats vinden aan het spoor. Hierdoor rijden er geen treinen tussen Utrecht Centraal en ‘s-Hertogenbosch.
Bezoekers die reizen tussen Utrecht Centraal en ‘s-Hertogenbosch v.v. adviseren wij om niet met de trein vanuit Geldermalsen, Tiel, Culemborg, Houten, Utrecht Lunetten en uit de richting ‘s-Hertogenbosch/Eindhoven te reizen.
Reizigers vanuit Den Bosch en Eindhoven die toch van plan zijn om met de trein te reizen dienen rekening te houden met een extra reistijd van tenminste één uur en extra overstappen. Mocht u ondanks deze extra reistijd en overstappen toch met de trein willen reizen, dan vindt u in de tabellen hieronder het reisadvies:

- Drink en eetmunten kunnen worden betaald met een pinpas.
- Er zijn lockerboxen aanwezig in de Jaarbeurs.
- Tijdens Trance Energy hanteert de overheid het zogenaamde Zero Tolerance beleid; dit betekent dat harddrugs, maar ook softdrugs niet zijn toegestaan. Dit is beleid dat is opgelegd door politie en justitie.
- Identificatie is verplicht. Houd er rekening mee dat hiernaar gevraagd kan worden.
